James Webb Space Telescope successfully launched from Guiana space center also known as Europe's spaceports.it has been successfully launched on the American time at 7:20 am in Indian time 5:50 pm.

It cannot orbit the earth like Hubble telescope from 450 kilometres.It orbit around the sun from 1.5 million kilometres from the earth that is known as L2 point.
What is L2 point of the earth?
Largrange point is point were the gravitational pull of two bodies is balanced.On this point the satellite can orbit the body with balance and contents.There is mainly 5 Largrange point.

Because L2 point is start from 9,30000 miles away from earth.it is from the opposite side of the sun.it is the point were gravitational pull of the 3 bodies earth,Moon and the sun remain same and balance.you already know when the object is situated on very large distance it can revolve around the sun very late and it take more than a year.
So, scientists can choose this L2 point which closer to L2 starting point.JWST also use gravity of moon and earth that make easy to complete one revolution toward the sun like earth and moon in a year.When James Webb Space Telescope bound with earth's and moon's gravity it's speed is boost.
And scientists choose L2 also because it is present opposite side from the sun were sunshield always face the heat and radiation of sun the sun ray cannot affect the JWST primary mirror.
